(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
Unbroken Soul is a pixel art action-platformer game by indie developer, Oscar Ruiz. You play as Tyrion, the king of a world called, Aralon as he goes on an adventure to save humanity from the evil necromancer, Elanoif. I was actually blown away from this little indie title at first. The story is well done, the level designs are tough, but fun, and the pixel art is decent. The whole game looks and plays great with only one exception. Throughout my time with Unbroken Soul, I experienced a handful of crashes. Nothing major, but enough to point out. Other than that, Unbroken Soul is a solid side scroller. The platforming is crazy tough (in a good way) and I love that you can upgrade weapons and gain new abilities. The controls are fully adjustable with several options and the game also support MFI controllers. Unbroken Soul may not be perfect, but with a quick update, it could be perfect for platformer fans.
Unbroken Soul is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
