(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
She and the Light Bearer is a story-driven “point & click” adventure by Mojiken Studio, Pathetic Experience, and Toge Productions. You play as a firefly that ends up in an unknown forest. The firefly’s belongings are scattered and he has no clue where he’s at. The only thing you can do is travel deep into the woods and find the “Mother” of the forest. The fairytale story is actually really well written. There are all sorts of cute characters you run across with branching storylines. The artwork is absolutely beautiful with hand drawn animations and unique character designs. I will say that the game starts out a bit slow. There’s a lot of reading with little bits of interaction. Once you finish up the “light orb test” within the first hour, things pick up a bit. She and the Light Bearer is a well written adventure with some really good puzzles and riddles to figure out. Fans of the point & click genre or players that enjoy a good story will appreciate this game and it’s slower pace.
