(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Dungeon Drop is an endless vertical dungeon crawler by the indie team at Retro Dreamer. The game plays like an endless dropper with a unique twist. You need to line up floors of the dungeon in order to give your character space to drop. Even though the controls are simple with just swiping floors left and right, there’s a lot of strategy involved. You’ll need to look ahead at what you’re dropping into. There’s traps, enemies, special pickups, and more. There’s a spiked wall falling above you, so every move not only has to be calculated, it has to be fast. Dungeon Drop is a great game with a lot of charm. The pixel art is well done and there’s a ton of polish. There’s 60 different characters to unlock and a couple different game modes. There’s also a “premium” version with exclusive characters, modes, double rewards, and more. With Apple Arcade on the horizon and multiple other games releasing this week on the App Store, don’t let this one get overlooked!
