(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
ECO is a physics-based puzzle game by indie developer, Game Fox. The story goes that the earth is covered in a massive sandstorm and everyone is in an underground shelter. The good “Doctor” decides to create an exploration robot called “ECO” to try and help escape to the top. That’s basically where the game comes in. Throughout 300 different levels, your job is to get ECO into a portal. This is done by cutting ropes, blowing fans, moving levels, etc. So, technically aren’t controlling ECO, but the world around him/her/it. Things start off pretty easy and almost feel like an advanced Cut the Rope style of game at first. But, once you get past the first 20 levels or so, things get pretty…..puzzle-y. ECO it’s pretty fun and has a ton of polish. The story is well done, you can customize the robot, and even decorate your shelter (that you’re trying to escape from). If you like physics-based puzzle games, ECO is definitely worth a look.
ECO is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
