(From The Attic is a way for us to bring new life to older titles. With so many games releasing on the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook a game or two or forget about a game you once played, but never finished.)
KungFu Quest: The Jade Tower is one of those games that I’ve never forgotten about and actually replay the game from time to time. The game released back in the summer of 2013 by indie developer IPlayAllDay Studios. It’s a side scrolling action/fighting game where you play as a kung fu fighter who traveled back in time to stop some evil plan from ruining the world. The whole game takes place in this large pagoda (I didn’t even have to google that name!) as you make your way floor by floor fighting henchmen and facing bosses. KungFu Quest was/is ridiculously hard at times. The enemy AI won’t let you simply mash buttons to make your way through. You’ve got to purchase new strike moves and place them in the right order for unique combos. You do this with coins you earn from beating levels. KungFu Quest was originally a paid game for a little while, then went F2P (free to play) back in 2014 when everyone was starting to do it. The mechanics are still pretty fair and the game holds up well even with today’s titles. KungFu Quest is an iOS classic that was ahead of its time. I honestly wish there were more games like this now. If you haven’t played this game yet, I highly recommend that you DO IT NOW!
