Hey, what do ya know? Another political-ish game that I like! Impeached! is a strategic arcade game that recently released on the App Store by indie developer Oddbird. I’m not sure who actually came out with these game mechanics first, but the best way to describe the game is that it plays a lot like the Reigns series. It’s all about making executive orders while trying to keep your people happy, the money flowing, and the environment safe. (All represented in “bars” at the top of the screen. The orders are usually absolutely ridiculous like “everyone can only see in grayscale”. Then, you’ll need to answer to the press which will have you pulling back or doubling down on your decisions. Impeached! is a hilarious game with some charming artwork. Unfortunately, there’s not much else to the game. You play until you are eventually “impeached” and that’s it. There’s plenty of different orders, so you start over quite a few times before you start seeing repeats. I just wish there was some sort of progression in the game. Something to keep you playing besides a few chuckles. Regardless, Impeached! is still a fun little game and worth checking out.
