(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER SNAPP CHALLENGE!!
It’s a little early this week, but I really like this game. Astalo is the newest title to release on the App Store by Tree Men Games. It’s a dungeon crawling action/arcade made exclusively for mobile. In Astalo, you battle against waves of evil monsters and bosses as you try and last as long as you can. Movement and attacking is done with simple flicks of your thumb. You can swipe the screen like a madman or go for more of a strategic approach by swiping and holding. This will slow down time and allow you to aim at where you’re wanting to attack. There’s a lot of grinding involved, but each run is randomly generated with different enemies, power-ups, and treasures, so things never really feel repetitive. You can collect coins and stars as you progress. These can be used for purchasing different fighters and unlocking arenas. I’ve been really enjoying this game the more that I play it. It has that “one more go” feel to it. If you’re looking for a great time killer, you can’t go wrong with Astalo on your device.
There’s also an Endless Mode with GameCenter leaderboards in this game. That’s where this week’s SNAPP Challenge comes in! If you want to get all up in this week’s action, download the game and post a screenshot of your high score on Twitter with the hashtag #SNAPPChallenge. You can also join us in our Discord! Winner is usually announced sometime on Monday.
Astalo is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
