(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Dungeon Square is a 2D side-scrolling action RPG that recently released on the App Store by indie developer, Kabiart Studio. It’s a unique little game where each room is set up on a single screen. Rooms are filled with enemies, deadly traps, and tons of secrets. There’s also some mild platforming thrown into the mix. The on-screen controls work well, but are a bit cramped due to the game playing in portrait mode. Regardless, I’ve been in love with this game. There’s a decent little story with a charming set of characters. There’s also a store to buy new weapons at, a bank to save your money, an inn to purchase power-ups, and a bunch more. Dungeon Square is a full fledged action RPG that crammed into a tiny little package. With over 100 rooms to get lost in and more on the way, I can’t recommend this little gem enough.
Dungeon Square is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
