Space Army Jetpack Arcade is a side scrolling SHMUP (shoot em’ up) that recently released on the App Store by the indie team at Sheepyard. You play as a Space Defender as you try and protect planet earth from the Space Titans. The story isn’t that deep, but it carries the game along nicely. SAJA is a level-based game that has you taking on the Titans across several different planets. The visuals are beautiful and the soundtrack is well done (especially with a good set of headphones). But, what usually makes or breaks a good shooter are the controls. I’m happy to say that the controls are great in this game. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with SAJA! There are tons of weapons, armor, and abilities to unlock a d upgrade. There’s a decent size campaign along with a Survival Mode. The game is F2P (free to play), but it’s fair. There’s no “energy system”, dual currency, or anything like that. There’s a small timer when purchasing new weapons, but that’s it. Space Army Jetpack Arcade is a game that definitely needs more attention. If you’re a fan of shooters or action games, definitely pick this one up!
