Tiny Island Survival iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Tiny Island Survival is a pixel art survival game by developer Game Start that was recently released on the App Store. What’s really unique about this game is that the entire game is played on a single screen. You start off stranded on an island and have to figure things out for yourself on how to survive. This means chopping down trees, collecting resources, and crafting tools. There’s a bit of a formula to the game. With each action that you make, you lose a heart. Once all hearts are lost, you go into your tent and sleep for the night. As you progress, you can upgrade your hearts as the days get longer. After a little while, TIS starts to feel almost like a clicker/idle game. There’s a lot of working and sleeping, working and sleeping. That’s all part of the game’s charm I think. I will say that things can get a bit frustrating at times. Especially when enemies come into play. (I’m trying not to spoil anything.) Tiny Island Survival is all about grinding for materials and slowly inching your way off the island. It’s a slower paced game with a hell of a lot of tapping. So it’s great to pick up and play for a couple minutes here and there. I know that we’ve seen a lot of survival games pass through the App Store, but don’t pass this one up. Remember, big things come in small packages.
