(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Magic vs Metal is the latest game by the team at Foursaken Media. It’s a real-time strategy game that has you taking on the roles of biological or mechanical factions as you waves of enemy hordes. As you play through the huge campaign, you’ll unlock tons of new spells and heroes that are all upgradable. I’ve always been a fan of Foursaken’s games and with this title, they did not disappoint! What makes MvM unique is that you can play in landscape or portrait mode. Landscape will give you more of a third-person shooter feel where you have more control of your character via a joystick. Portrait mode feels a bit more like a RTS game where you tap where you want your character to go. Even though you’re playing the same campaign, both modes make it feel like a totally different game. I’ve been having a lot of fun with MvM so far. There is a ton of content that’ll keep you busy for quite a while. Sure, it can be a bit tough at times, but tough in a good way if you know what I mean. You’re always wanting to upgrade and improve yourself to get past that next level. If you’re a fan of Foursaken’s other games, you’re probably already playing Magic vs Metal. But, if for some reason you haven’t downloaded it yet, let this push you over! It’s like two games in one and every bit of it is awesome!
