Vampire Survivors is a roguelike survival PC game that was recently ported over to mobile. At first glance, it may look like this is yet another survival game on the App Store. (Even though this was probably one of the OG survival games) But, the more you play Vampire Survivors, the further it strays from the others in the genre. Yes, it shares the same core gameplay loop, but that’s where it stops. What makes Vampire Survivors stand out is how little it tells you. There are so many secrets and things to figure out for yourself, that the game changes up and morphs the more you play it. I will say that things are pretty tough in the beginning. Your first handful of runs almost feel a bit bland even. You only have a handful of weapons and you are completely underpowered. But, as you start unlocking weapons and powering up, this title really starts to shine. The single-stick auto-shooting mechanics work pretty well on iPhone and iPad and I absolutely love the whole vampire theme. If you’re a fan of the survival genre that’s popular right now…..Hell, even if you’re already burned out on the genre, make sure to pick this gem up. You won’t regret it. Just be sure to give it some time.
