(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Gun Spectre is an action-adventure game and the newest title under the Clickteam name (FNAF series). You play as an unnamed hero in a post apocalyptic wasteland that is trying to stop an unknown force from ruining the world once again. The main objective in Gun Spectre is to collect these six crystals scattered throughout the world. You’ll need to explore a fairly big open world and uncover each one. I’ve actually been having a lot of fun with this game so far. The game plays a lot like the original Zelda games on the NES with exploration being done screen by screen. I will say that with the game having a pretty large world, it was easy for me to get lost at times. There’s a map that you can view when you pause the game, but I found it more annoying pausing every couple rooms. I also wished there was a little more to the weapon system. You can collect temporary upgrades throughout your travels that make your weapon more powerful, but they don’t last very long. Regardless, Gun Spectre is a solid action-adventure game with a decent bit of challenge and exploration. The pixel art is well done and the controls are fairly simple. If you’re a fan of games like the original Zelda or even The Binding of Isaac, Gun Spectre is definitely worth picking up.
