Buriedbornes 2 is a turn-based RPG and sequel to last year’s game with the same name. I didn’t play much of the first game due to it being way too hard for me. This time around, things feel a little more balanced as far as difficulty goes. Buriedbornes 2 is a dungeon crawler-style game where you make your way from room to room and try to reach the end before you die. Dungeons have branching paths giving you a choice of where you want to go. Depending on the room, most will have a set of enemies that you’ll need to defeat before passing through. The turn-based fighting is simple, but took me a while to get the hang of it. There are tons of skills, runes, attack moves, and other gear to figure out that I felt a bit overwhelmed at first. The tutorial helps get you at least get started, but there is so much more to figure out as you play. Buriedbornes 2 is a solid RPG with quite a bit of depth. The enemy types are well done and the melodic soundtrack is beautiful. It’s a fun game once you spend some time with it. Just be prepared to read a lot of text and die……a lot.
