(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Brok The InvestiGator is a 2D point & click style game that was recently released on the App Store by CowCat Games. In this game you play as Brok, an alligator private investigator and former boxer whose wife was mysteriously killed. Your objective is to take on jobs and hope to piece together your wife’s passing. Brok The InvestiGator is a mixture of everything. At its core, it’s a point & click game. You spend a lot of time tapping on objects and solving puzzles. What makes things unique is that there’s also a fighting element. As you work your way through the story, you’ll be met with enemies that you will need to defeat. The fighting mechanics are actually pretty tight with simple taps and swipes to attack. As you beat enemies, you’ll earn experience that you can use to upgrade your stats. Brok The InvestiGator is a mixed bag of genres and that can be a good or bad thing. Things may get a little confusing for some when changing from adventure to fight modes. But for the most part, BTI is a solid game. The voice acting is well done and the 2D art and animal world is really charming. And with a 15-20 hour well written story, there’s plenty to keep you busy. If you’re looking for something a little different, Brok The InvestiGator is really worthy of your time.
