Cerulean Blitz is a pixel art bullet hell shmup that was recently released on the App Store by developer Oaks Games Studio. The game has you fighting your way through waves of enemies deep under the sea. Similar to most shooters, you control your character by sliding your thumb around the screen. Double tapping will let you shoot off bombs. There’s not much else to Cerulean Blitz. The object is to get as far as you can before eventually dying. As you progress, you’ll earn currency that you can use to unlock relics. Relics change everything from weapons to color palettes, and more. I’ve sunk a decent amount of time into Cerulean Blitz and have had a pretty good time with it. The controls are tight and the visuals and audio are both well done. The game seems to have a lot of secrets and content that you need to find yourself. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a single thing! I haven’t even been able to keep any of the coins that I pick up! Once you die, you lose everything. I’m guessing that you need to make it a certain distance to keep all your coins and I just suck at the game. So, if you’re good a shmups/bullet hell games, give Cerulean Blitz a try.
