Skate Fish is an arcade skateboarding/fishing game by Sudden Event Studios that was recently released on the App Store under the Whitethorn Digital umbrella. Like the eclipse today, games like this only come across every so often. Skate Fish is a really unique title that has you skating around a pond as you wait to find a fish pop up. Once you hook the fish, it will pull you around while you try to do enough tricks to impress the fish into being caught. Sounds weird? That’s because it is! And I love every minute of it. The fingerboard-style controls are buttery smooth, but may be a bit tough for some. Especially if you’ve never skateboarded. Luckily, there are other control options if you’re having difficulty. As you progress through the game, you can unlock new areas, customize your board and gear, and research new fish. Skate Fish is every bit as weird as it is fun. I haven’t been able to put the game down since I started playing. Like I said before, the controls might be a bit difficult for novices, but if you stick with it, Skate Fish is definitely worth your time.
