Bear Avalanche is a combat drifting game that was recently released on the App Store by Phoque Games. In this game you control your vehicle as you escape from an avalanche while trying not to wreck or get eaten by bears. Bear Avalanche is a really crazy game that takes a bit to get the hang of. Each run is randomly generated as you try to make your way to “gates”. Once reaching a gate, you need to stay on a small platform while drifting around and killing incoming bears that are attacking you. Dead bears drop TNT, so once you’ve killed enough animals and collected enough TNT, you can blow up the gate and keep going on your run. (Like I said, this is a crazy game!) As you progress, you’ll pick up coins that you can use to upgrade and purchase new vehicles. Bear Avalanche may not be for everyone. It’s chaotic and even confusing at times, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. I absolutely love the whole style and vibe this game has. The low-poly visuals are gritty and well done. And the controls are pretty tight considering how fast it can get. I will say that using the touch controls can get a bit tricky when trying to steer and lock onto hook points, but with a little practice, things got easier. All in all, Bear Avalanche is a really unique drifting/combat game with enough content and surprises to keep you busy for a while.
