Hissy Fit iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Hissy Fit is an arcade Snake-style game that was recently released on the App Store by Panda Arcade. The game has you controlling your “Noodle” as you create chaos around town. The object is to survive as long as possible before dying. As you destroy objects and eat the townspeople, your snake will grow in length and size, letting you eat and destroy larger objects. What really hooked me was the world building and level design. As you move around town creating enough chaos, the police will try to stop you by shooting at you. If that doesn’t do it, the military will eventually parachute in with tanks. It’s all reminiscent of something straight out of Grand Theft Auto, but it’s in this cutesy toy-like town. Speaking of, the visuals in Hissy Fit are absolutely stunning. Everything looks like it’s right out of a toy box. As you progress, you’ll earn coins that you can use for new characters and cosmetics. Hissy Fit is a really fun arcade game with tons of unique levels and challenges. Unfortunately, the game is VERY aggressive with its monetization. You can only play so many times before you need to “feed” your Noodle soda to give them energy to play. And it looks like soda can only be bought with premium currency! That doesn’t count season pass, booster packs, coin/gem IAPs, and a fourth currency that I haven’t even figured out what it’s for yet. Hissy Fit is a really fun arcade game that has a lot of good stuff going for it. Unfortunately, most of it is tainted by an aggressive ecosystem.
