SNAPP Attack’s CLASS OF 2024!

Alright Glitches! Settle down now! School is in session! It’s time to nominate and congratulate our best and brightest of SNAPP Valley High in our lord’s year of two thousand twenty four. There are the games that made the biggest impact with us for one way or another. This will be excluding any subscription service games like Apple Arcade, Netflix, Crunchyroll, etc.

Before we get started, I just wanted to thank everyone that has supported SNAPP the last 365 days. We are in a crazy spot at the moment. The past year has basically kicked a lot of games media in the nuts. Blogs are kind of fading away as people favor social media to get their news rather than actual websites. And it feels almost impossible to get any kind of traction on the new Twitter/X or even TikTok and YouTube! Needless to say, 2024 has been a fucking rollercoaster! Subscription services have been slowly taking over, developers have been leaving mobile left and right, constant news of studio layoffs (like me) and we even lost the media titan TouchArcade. (Salute and moment of silence for the site that started it all.) It’s definitely been a rough year, but SNAPP isn’t going anywhere at the moment. We will try to adapt as much as possible showcasing the little guys.

Alright! Let’s get this year’s assembly started! Below are 15 of 2024’s best and brightest! They may not be the prettiest or the most popular in the school, but are definitely the most memorable here at SNAPP Valley High. We tried to pick games that didn’t get a whole bunch of press, weren’t part of a subscription service, and weren’t ports of already established games or franchises. Believe me, after going through the last 50 weeks of SNAPP Roundups, there were a LOT of great games that were released! That being said, here is SNAPP Attack’s Class of 2014!

A special congratulations to this year’s valedictorian! Skate Fish was a game that came out of left field. Who would’ve guessed that skateboarding and fishing would go together so well? The fingerboard-style controls mixed with catching rare fish had me “hooked” throughout the entire year. Skate Fish wasn’t without its flaws. The controls were awkward for some people and there wasn’t a lot added post-launch. But, you’ve got to give Whitethorn Digital respect for thinking outside the box with this one.
