(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Emoji Quest is a top-down RPG that released late last year on the App Store by indie developer, Cappy1Games. This is another one of those games that I had no clue was going to be as good as it is. Emoji Quest is basically a full-fledged RPG in a world of emojis. There’s a big open world with people to talk to and give you side quests, there’s a leveling system, tons of items to collect, and a bunch more. You can also buy or unlock different emojis each with their own unique stats and weapons. The controls are simple with just a single virtual stick to move around. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how much fun this game has been. It may not be the deepest RPG out there, but the developer did an excellent job with mashing two genres together. Emoji Quest is a cute little casual game with enough depth to keep you playing for awhile.
