Arcade Wizard 2 is the sequel to Timothy Commandeur’s 2020’s game……well, Arcade Wizard of course. If you haven’t played the original, you play as Warrick the Wizard as you set out to save Arcadia from the evil cultists. The best way to describe AW2 is that it’s a single-stick rear shooter? Basically, Warrick’s magic orb drags behind him and automatically shoots. So, you’re doing a lot of running away from enemies in order to kill them. There’s a bit more strategy than just that. You can lock in your orb by hitting the left side of the screen which can be used to flank enemies. It’s honestly one of those games that you have to play to understand. That brings me to SHOULD you play this game. I’d say yes. I’ve been having a lot of fun with Arcade Wizard 2 so far. I will say that it doesn’t feel like a true sequel though. The upgrades and perks have all felt a bit dumbed down from the original and there’s not much added as far as gameplay. It feels more like a V1.5 upgrade. Regardless, Arcade Wizard 2 is a hell of a lot of fun and a unique experience. For a couple bucks, I’d definitely say that it’s worth it.
