Seraph’s Last Stand is a roguelike shooter based on the flash game “Heli Attack”. The game was released on Google Play back in July of last year by indie developer Odd Giant. SLS has your pretty standard roguelike mechanics. As you take on waves of enemies, you’ll stack multiple upgrades and try to hold out as long as possible until your inevitable demise. What I really liked about this game is the mixture of dual sticks with the side scrolling camera angle. It’s something that you don’t see everyday. I will say that the controls could be a little bit tighter. I found it tough to aim at times when you have a lot going on at once. Regardless, Seraph’s Last Stand is a fun little roguelike with some classic looking visuals. There are plenty of combinations of upgrades to stack and new hats/staffs to unlock as you progress. Even though the game is a little rough around the edges, Seraph’s Last Stand is still worth checking out.
