(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
I know that I’ve gone a little heavy on the racing games lately, but it’s just the way it is I guess. Slip Angle Drift is a racing/drifting game by indie developer Tamerlan Astemirov that was recently released on the App Store. Unfortunately, there are so many of these drifting games out there, that it’s easy to look over some of the good ones. Even though Slip Angle may be a bit basic for some, the game seems to hit all the right marks for mobile. The game has a full career mode with unique time and drift trials along with an ending “boss” to beat at the end of each season. You can use the money that you collect to upgrade your ride as you progress. Upgrading is pretty basic, but enough to keep you engaged. I know that I’ve mentioned Slip Angle being “basic” a couple of times, but it’s still a pretty solid little drifting game that doesn’t push you to purchase a ton of IAPs to progress. And that’s hard to find nowadays. The controls are pretty tight and the top-down camera works well on the iPhone. You could probably get through the entire career in one or two sittings, but that’s just fine with me. What you see is what you get with this game. If you’re looking for a decent drifting game to pass some time, Slip Angle is definitely worth checking out.
