(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Firefighter is a pixel art action/shooting game by AlexPlay that was recently released on the App Store. You play as a firefighter as you take on waves of fire-based monsters. At first, I thought that this was going to be another Archero-like survival game. The controls are similar, but that’s about it where the two compare. Firefighter is a level based game where you walk through office buildings while shooting everything that moves. As you progress, you’ll earn coins and find different weapons/gear that you can upgrade until your heart’s content. Of course Firefighter is free to play, so there’s the usual multiple currencies, VIP passes, and loot boxes. But, the developer did a decent job keeping things pretty fair. There’s no “energy timer” and I haven’t seen a single ad pop up. I will say that the timer for the loot crates is a bit high at 120 minutes to open. (You can open immediately by watching an ad) Other than that, things feel pretty balanced. I’ve been having a lot of fun with this game so far. The pixel art is absolutely beautiful and I love the fire fighting theme. Plus, there are tons of cool weapons and gear to try out and with over 200 levels, there’s enough content to keep you playing for a little while. If you’re a fan of action-shooters, Firefighter is worth checking out.
