Monimal is a roguelike/shooter-style game by MAD.com that was released on the App Store back in June of 2022. It’s one of those games that I almost didn’t download judging from the screenshots. Its cutesy visuals make it almost look like a kids game. Monimal is actually a pretty interesting game though! It plays a lot like a horizontal shmup. You control your character as it’s constantly moving forward and auto-shooting at the closest enemy. There are 5 areas each with their own sub-levels. The object is to get through all 5 sub-levels in a single run. As you progress, you’ll earn EXP and coins that you can use to unlock and upgrade a ton of different skills and abilities. You can also find new costumes to wear or pets to fight alongside you. Monimal is F2P, but pretty fair from my experience. There’s no timers and only a single currency. Monimals may not look like much, but there’s quite a bit of depth once you sink a little time into it.
