Star Paws is a wave-based survival game that was recently released on the App Store by Nowhere Games. You play as the “Star Paws”, a group of cats set out to defend the earth from an alien invasion. Star Paws is basically a survival game set in space. Your ship automatically shoots as you move around the screen aiming at enemies. After a few waves, you’ll be met with a boss and then it’s back to more waves. What makes the game a little unique is that you have to also collect ammo. Depending on what weapon you are using, ammo can run out fast. You earn ammo from shooting down enemy ships and asteroids. So, you’re constantly balancing ammo, enemies, and plain old survival. It’s a challenging mechanic that’s wrapped in a cutesy pixel art theme. As you progress, you’ll earn coins that you can use to upgrade your skills and buy new characters. I will say that earning coins can be a bit tough. You’ll definitely need to grind for a while in order to purchase a new character or later level upgrades. Regardless, Star Paws is a fun little survival game that’s worth checking out.
