Bounded Climb is an action/roguelite game that was recently released on the App Store by indie developer Abdullah Alwatyan. This looks to be Abdullahâs second game released and itâs an absolute gem in my opinion. The game plays out as somewhat of a dual-stick shooter. You take on the controls of a kitten as you climb your way up an almost endless wall. While youâre climbing, youâll be met with spikes, traps, baddies, and more as you try to make your way to the top of the wall. The controls are fairly simple. The left joystick controls your character and the left stick controls your weapon. Thereâs also a dash button that can be used as long as your stamina meter is full. You also have a little sidekick thatâll automatically shoot at enemies and obstacles on their own. Each run is randomly generated and can be brutal at times. When you die (and you will definitely die often), itâs basically game over. But your sidekick will earn XP, level up, and get stronger. This helps keep the game from getting too repetitive. Youâre always getting a little further with each run due to the help of your little pal. As you progress, youâll be able to start off your run with new coffee recipes. Recipes act as buffs before each play. Iâve been pleasantly surprised with how much fun Bounded Climb is. Yea, the dual-stick controls can feel a little cramped with the game being in portrait mode, but itâs nothing too serious. Bounded Climb is an all around solid action/roguelite game with good pixel art and a fun theme. Donât miss out on this little gem!
