(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Simple Skate is a casual platformer and the first mobile game by Ivaan Gomez of GPinky. Recently released on the App Store, Simple Skate is a level-based game where you control a skateboard. Levels are basically made up of point A to point B runs. Controls are as simple as tapping the left and right side of the screen to move while swiping up to ollie/jump. The first couple levels start off fairly easy, but the difficulty ramps up fairly quick after level 5 or so. The level design is well done and keeps you on your toes. As you progress, you can pick up diamonds that you can turn in for new skateboards. There’s honestly not a whole lot to Simple Skate. It’s just a fun little platformer with simple visuals, yet tough levels. The ads were originally a bit intrusive, but with the recent update things feel a bit more balanced. So, if you’re looking for a decent little time killer, Simple Skate is worth checking out.
