Golf Journey is a 2D golfing game by Birdie Games that was recently released on the App Store. It’s a simple game of (almost) endless golf where you try to sink your shot in as little strokes as possible. There’s actually a few of these minimalist side scrolling golf games on the App Store. Golf Journey is a bit different adding the ability to put spin on the ball. Spinning the ball can make a huge difference when trying to keep the ball from rolling out of bounds. The controls work well enough using slingshot mechanics and the physics are decent. There’s honestly not much else to Golf Journey. It’s just a 2D golf game with no penalties for how many strokes you use. There are GameCenter leaderboards that track how many holes you’ve passed and that’s it. Golf Journey isn’t a bad game, but it also isn’t great. There are 1000 holes in total, but I found myself getting kind of bored after the 10th hole or so. So, If you’re a fan of golf and are looking for a time killer, Golf Journey may be worth checking out. Just don’t expect a whole lot outside of what you see in the screenshots.
