Save Polly is an action-arcade game that was recently released on the App Store by Polarcade. The game has you playing as a young parrot named Polly as you try to reunite with your parents after being separated during a large storm. The main portion of Save Polly is level-based. This is where you follow the story along and slowly get introduced to the mechanics. It took me a little while to get the hang of things. Polly moves forward automatically as you tap the buttons on the right side of the screen to move up/down and the 2 buttons on the left to speed up/slow down. The game seems easy at first, but with Polly constantly being in motion, every move you make has to be calculated. As you progress, you’ll collect coins that you can use for disposable power-ups. There are also random gems to collect that you can use to upgrade Polly and purchase hats with unique abilities. Save Polly is a really polish game that came out of nowhere. The visuals are beautiful with charming characters and full voice acting. There is also a Weekly Challenge and Marathon (endless) level with full leaderboards. I was pleasantly surprised with this game. If you’re looking for something new, definitely give Save Polly a try!
