The Detractor is a roguelike boxing RPG that was recently released on the App Store by Happii Gamer Studios. In this game you play as a fighter that’s seeking revenge on the almighty King Of Hatred for exiling them. You play the game in first person as you make your way through randomly generated pathways fighting, looting, and more. The actual fighting is top notch. Punching, dodging, and learning your opponent’s attack patterns is super satisfying. The other thing that’s really well done is the writing. With a big focus on the popular lolcow, DSP, I found myself cracking up quite a few times. The Detractor is a really unique roguelike with way more going on that I could ever fit into a quick SNAPP Review. It’s one of those games that instantly hook you in as soon as you fire it up for the first time. I will say that I did have a few text problems while playing. Icons would pop up without the text leaving me to guess what I was to do next. I’m not sure if this is just an isolated issue with my phone or something bigger. Regardless, The Detractor is a hell of a lot of fun with a ton of content packed to keep you busy. If you’re a fan of roguelikes, definitely check this one out!
