Oby Adventure is a side-scrolling platformer that was recently released on the App Store by developer Oby’s Farm. The game has you playing as Oby. A little pig that is out to help out the Fruit Kingdom by gathering ancient artifacts to create the powerful “Source” and restore the kingdom. This game came out of nowhere for me. The first thing that you’ll notice is the game’s polish. It’s got a great little story, charming characters, and some crazy level design. Each level kept me on my toes with constant changes in landscape. One second you are hopping on platforms and stomping on enemies, while the next second you are shot across the screen to a completely different area with fresh new mechanics. I honestly couldn’t put the game down once I started playing. As you progress, you’ll pick up coins that you can use to purchase new outfits for Oby. As far as controls go, the on-screen buttons work well enough, but can be a bit cramped if you have fat thumbs like me. Regardless, Oby Adventure is a really fun platformer with tons of charm. Unfortunately, we only get six levels in the first world, with four more worlds to be added in the future. They are fairly long levels, but it’s still worth noting. So, if you’re a fan of platformers, Oby Adventure may be short & sweet, but it’s well worth checking out!
