Lost Spaceships is a retro-style space shooter that recently released on the App Store by indie developer Jakub Sakowicz. You take on the role of a pilot that wants to save the universe. But, in order to do this, you’ll need to find and use the abandoned spaceships of the pilots who failed missions in the past. The game plays like your classic vertical SHMUP (shoot em’ up). Enemies come from the top of the screen as you dodge their fire and shoot them down. It’s a classic concept that is executed beautifully in my opinion. I’ve really been having a lot of fun with this game so far. The pixel art and ship designs are well done and the soundtrack has a catchy 80’s synthwave vibe to it. Lost Spaceships is a welcome addition to mobile gaming. It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten a really good retro shooter on the App Store. There’s upgrades, power-ups, and a ton of ships to unlock. If you’re a fan of vertical shooters, Lost Spaceships is a game that needs to be on your device.
