Normally I don’t review political games. They are usually one sided and pushing some sort of agenda. Plus, nothing good comes out of mixing politics and games……That is until now. Election Year Knockout is an arcade boxing game by the team at Exceptionull Games. The object is to create your own political party and fight your way to the White House. Fighters are comedic representations of political members with their own unique stats and backstory. The fighting itself is actually really solid. It plays a lot like the old NES/SNES Punch Out games. Fights are definitely tough though! I’ve been taking a couple of L’s from each fighter to get their moves memorized. What really surprised me was how much depth and polish this game has. Not to mention, the writing is really witty and actually had me laughing out loud quite a few times. The developer did an “exceptionull” job on this game. (Sorry. I had to do it.) It sheds light on an otherwise dark topic for people and just has fun with it. I honestly can’t recommend Election Year Knockout enough.
