Nerd Survivors is a top-down survival game that was recently released on the App Store by Heartbit Interactive (The team behind the Doom & Destiny series). A group of friends end up being transported into a fantasy world full of monsters and this is where your journey starts. Now, I’ll be the first to say that I’m pretty burned out of the whole “survivor-style” genre. There are dozens of these games released daily. But, Nerd Survivors is an exception. Within the first 10 minutes, I was hooked. The gameplay is similar to most in the genre. Your character auto-attacks while you move around the map using a single joystick. What makes Nerd Survivors different from the rest is its polish. The game has tons of really cool power-ups that you can upgrade, rewards to unlock, and a bunch of characters with their own unique attributes that you can purchase with the coins you collect. Nerd Survivors is a top-tier survival game up there with Vampire Survivors. Its over-the-top chaos added with tons of unlockables make it a must have for fans of the genre. There’s also a “Lite” version of the game that lets you pretty much play the entire game minus a handful of characters and the Forge of Destiny which lets you customize your weapons. I recommend the the premium version, but either way you can’t go wrong.
