New Star GP is an arcade racing game and the newest game to hit the App Store by New Star Games. New Star GP is a new take on the F1 racing games of the past. As much as I love racing games, it’s honestly been a while since I’ve played an F1-style racer. But, holy shit, this game blew me away! New Star GP starts off feeling like your typical arcade racing game. Basically putting the pedal to the metal until you hit the finish line. The racing is a hell of a lot of fun, but it’s when the game started opening up is when I got hooked. As you progress, you’ll upgrade your vehicle, unlock perks, gain sponsors, and even face staff issues. You never know what is going to happen in between races. You’ll even need to keep an eye on the weather during races and change your tires accordingly. There’s so much more packed into this game like Rival Races, Time Trials, and Elimination Races. I honestly can’t fit everything into a quick SNAPP Review. My only real issue is the on-screen controls. There are multiple combinations to pick from, but I just couldn’t find that one that felt perfect. Regardless, New Star GP is a beautiful love letter to arcade racers of the past. If you’re at all a fan of racing games, this one needs to be on your device!
