(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Boxbound is a story-driven endless puzzle game that was recently released on the App Store by Curfew Studios. The game has you play as a new hire in the warehouse at the post office. You and your coworker Peter are tasked with an endless stream of packages that you need to organize for delivery. As far as gameplay goes, the main mechanic is dragging and dropping different shaped packages in the right order in order to clear the level. It’s a simple mechanic, but is done very well in this case. As you progress, newly shaped packages will emerge making things a little tricky. That’s not all though. As the story progresses, new events will pop up, completely changing things up. The game does a really good job making you wonder what the hell is going to happen next. Boxbound is the perfect example of creating something unique out of a familiar mechanic. I’ve always struggled sticking with puzzle games due to how repetitive they can feel. So, it’s really refreshing playing a puzzle game that keeps me hooked. I honestly can’t recommend this game enough. The puzzles are satisfying to complete, the visuals are clean looking, and the story is intriguing. Boxbound is the total “package”. (See what I did there?) Do yourself a favor and give this one a go!
Boxbound is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
