9th Dawn Remake is an open-world RPG that was recently released on the App Store by developer Valoware. The game is a complete remake of the original title that was released back in 2012. I remember playing 9th Dawn back in the day and it was a great game, but had its limitations. This remake feels like an entirely new experience. So much has been upgraded and added making it feel like a different game. After a brief tutorial, you’re basically on your own to do what you want. The game does a good job gently guiding you to main quests, but it doesn’t take much to go off the beaten path and kind of do your own thing. There’s side quests to discover, dungeons to grind through, crafting, mini-games, and a bunch more. So much love has been poured into this remake. Even the mini-games feel like full-fledged games themselves. I personally found myself hooked (no pun intended) on the fishing mini-game when I ran across it. As far as controls go, you use the left v-stick to move around and the right to attack. There are multiple on-screen buttons for your spells and special moves. I’ve been playing on an iPad and have had no issues. I tested on my phone and even though things are a little cramped, I was able to play just fine. 9th Dawn Remake is an absolute must-have for any RPG fans. There’s so much to explore and so in this massive open world. It’s honestly the best game in the series in my opinion. With the industry being so full of free to play games and shovelware, it’s a breath of fresh air playing something as solid as this. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up.
