Cosmo Panic iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Cosmo Panic is a survival-style defense game that was recently released on the App Store by Fundoshi Parade. The game has you defending the peaceful planet, Funpare from an alien invasion. Each level consists of 5 minutes of chaos. Enemies will come in from all sides and slowly make their way towards the planet at the bottom of the screen. With a single joystick/auto-fire mechanic, you move around the screen taking out anything that moves. Similar to survival games like Archero, you will stack up temporary power-ups as you earn experience from killing enemies. This is where things get a little challenging. Not only are you trying to stay alive against hundreds of enemy ships, you are also trying to keep them from reaching Funpare. As you progress, you’ll reach milestones and unlock/upgrade a ton of different weapons and add-ons. Cosmic Panic is a brutal, but fair roguelike that came out of nowhere for me. Sure, it can be a bit confusing at times, and I’m not a fan of the whole F2P “energy” timer. But, if you’re a fan of roguelikes or survival games, I highly recommend you check out this one!

Cosmo Panic is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
