(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Gumslinger 2: Ducks & Nukes is the sequel to Itatake’s 2023 game simply titled Gumslingers. The original game was a hit when it was released, so I was pretty excited when I saw this one pop up on the App Store. Gumslingers 2 takes a couple things from the first game and then goes its own direction for everything else. You are still facing up against an opponent in a 1v1 duel, but this time around the gameplay is turn-based instead of real-time. I didn’t think that I’d like this change at first. I loved the real-time chaos that Gumslingers had. But, after a few rounds, I began to get onboard. You and your opponent start off each round with a random set of 4 weapon cards. During each turn you aim where you want to throw and tap on your card. It’s a simple mechanic, but adds a ton of depth and strategy throughout the game. As you progress, you’ll unlock and upgrade new weapons to add to your deck. You can also upgrade your character, purchase new skins, outfits, and more. Even though I miss some of the chaos, I really like the strategic-style gameplay of Gumslingers 2. It’s one of those games that won’t let go once it sinks its teeth into you. Throw in the all new gummy visuals, 12 new worlds, a whole new cast of new characters, and 50 different weapons, and you’ve got yourself a solid game that’s hard to put down. If you’re looking for something new to play, I highly recommend checking this one out!
Gumslingers 2: Ducks & Nukes is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
