(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Knightbound is a pixel art dark fantasy game that was recently released on the App Store by young developer Supereo. The game has you playing as a young squire as you explore a fantasy world full of surprises. Knightbound is kind of a mixed bag when it comes to trying to review it. It’s the 16 year old developer’s first game, so it’s a bit rough around the edges at times. There’s not much of a story, there’s no map or clear direction on what to do, and the controls can be a bit stiff…….BUT, I can’t stop playing the game! The pixel art world is absolutely beautiful. I found myself wandering around just looking at things. And with the game not having a map, it forces you to really pay attention to where you are at so you don’t get lost. The fighting is pretty basic, but effective. You simply just tap the screen to swing your sword. Even with the game’s flaws, I’ve been having a lot of fun with Knightbound. I’m constantly finding something new every time I play. If you’re a fan of old school dungeon crawlers or fantasy games, I highly recommend checking out Knightbound! Plus, the developer had been constantly updating the game!
Knightbound is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
