Witcheye iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)

Witcheye is an old-school style platformer by the indie team at Moon Kid under the Devolver Digital umbrella. You’ll play as a mild mannered witch that has transformed herself into a flying eyeball in order to try and get back her secret ingredients that were stolen by a thieving knight and wizard. Witcheye was made specifically with mobile in mind. The controls are done with simple swipes and taps to move. There are over 50 levels that range from simple maneuvering around caves, to full on boss fights. The object is to collect all the “gems” in each level, but by the time I got a dozen or so levels in, I was only caring about making through alive. I absolutely love this game. There’s a ton of replay value with unlockable bonus modes and challenges. Plus, there’s ghosts and timers for speeduns if that’s your thing. The pixel art is beautifully chunky with some really cool characters. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this game. It reminds me of some of the creativity we saw when the mobile game industry first got big. Witcheye is an instant iOS classic that really shouldn’t be missed.
