Blockeggs is a puzzle-platformer that was recently released on the App Store by developer Gimbytes. The game has you playing as a little egg dude as you start at the bottom of each level and try to make your way to the top platform. Blockeggs is a really fun game with some unique mechanics. Besides the usual jumping/wall jumping, the game lets you drop new platforms similar to Tetris to make your way to hard to reach areas. You actually have quite a bit of freedom in Blockeggs. It’s pretty much do whatever it takes to make it. There’s no single way to complete a level. As you progress, you’ll be able to acquire new power-ups like grappling hooks and rockets and even unlock a bunch of new skins. That being said, Blockeggs is surprisingly a pretty tough game! The platforming can be a bit tricky and you can easily get crushed by falling platforms. If that wasn’t challenging enough, once you get past the first couple levels, the game starts throwing traps at you like spikes, lava pits, icy slopes, and more! Every move that you make has to be calculated. Regardless, Blockeggs is an ambitious game with some really fun level design. The pixel art visuals are well done and the on-screen controls work pretty well considering the difficulty. If you’re a fan of platformers or like a good challenge, definitely check Blockeggs out!
