Stair Quest is a roguelite adventure game that was recently released on the App Store by Nord Unit (Hyperforma). The game has you playing as Leo. A knight that’s trying to reach the top of The Great Stairs to restore order to the world. Each run is randomly generated keeping things feeling fresh. As you progress, you’ll unlock and upgrade new weapons and abilities with the coins and gems that you collect. I’ve sunk a decent amount of time into Stair Quest and have really been having a lot of fun with it so far. There are tons of unique characters and monsters to come across, boss fights, and a few surprises. What really makes this game fun are the controls. Your character auto-attacks as you just worry about moving and jumping. It’s not a new mechanic by any means, but it really works in this case. Stair Quest reminds me of the mobile titles of the past. The game is full of charm and is packed with things to keep you playing. You can just tell that the game was made for players to have fun. Not just to make a buck. There are a lot of other things that I’m leaving out like daily/weekly/monthly challenges, upgradable characters, and special skills. Stair Quest is a rare gem that needs to be played. If you’re a fan of roguelikes or action games, I highly recommend picking this one up!
