Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe is a cozy merging game that was recently re-released (I think it may have been on Netflix subscription originally) on the App Store by Hidea/Neowiz. The game has you creating magical recipes to create the perfect house for your cats. This is mainly done by merging ingredients together. The gameplay loop is pretty simple. Each recipe consists of a certain amount of ingredients. In order to figure out the ingredients, you’ll need to merge different types of fruits and vegetables together. The ingredients that you pull are random, so sometimes you can complete a recipe fairly quickly, while other times it takes a little longer. As you progress, you’ll unlock new furniture for your house, new clothes for your cats, and more. Cats & Soup is a lot of fun for a merge/puzzle game. It’s highly polished and oozes with charm. The only issue that I really have is that I’m not really a fan of gameplay timers. You can only pull so many veggies before a timer runs out and you have to wait. I’m not a fan of waiting to play. That’s just a preference though. So, if you’re a fan of cozy-style games, Cats & Soup is definitely worth checking out.
