Sorry for the lack of SNAPP Reviews lately. This whole Roundup/App Store dilemma has taken up most of my time with trying to find a fix. Anyway, I really wanted to put some extra eyes on this game. Space Squad Survival is a survival-style game and the newest title to hit the App Store by Rebel Twins. The game has you taking control of a commander of a ship as you make your way through the galaxy while trying to keep your squad alive. SSS is a mixture of a little bit of everything. You explore new planets as you take down alien creatures and steal their resources. You then use these resources to expand your ship and unlock new tech. It’s a really fun gameplay loop that keeps throwing new surprises at you to keep things fresh. As far as controls go, there is basically a single (invisible) joystick to move around and the game does the rest. The developer did a good job with not using a bunch of buttons on the screen. Most of the time, you’ll just need to hover your character over something to complete a task. I didn’t like this mechanic at first. It felt too “simplified” in my opinion. But, as I played on, it honestly started growing on me. Space Squad Survival is another absolute MUST PLAY by the Rebel Twins. The visuals and overall vibe of the game is charming and the audio is amazing. Rarely do I mention audio, but I highly recommend playing with headphones. They nailed it with some of the sound effects. All in all, I highly recommend checking this game out!
