Galactic Warzone iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Galactic Warzone is a top-down shmup game that was recently released on the App Store by Zeeppo Games. You play as a fighter pilot that is trying to save the galaxy from hostile forces. At first glance, I assumed that this game was going to be a bit of shovelware due to the screenshots looking a little too perfect. Surprisingly, Galactic Warzone is a pretty solid title! As far as gameplay goes, it’s pretty standard. You’ll go out on missions and shoot down waves of enemy ships while picking up upgrades and power-ups and usually ending with some kind of final battle before the level ends. What makes Galactic Warzone a bit unique is during your run, the POV can change from top-down to first-person or behind -the-ship in a blink of an eye. It’s a little disorienting at first, but turned out to be a fun change of pace. In between levels, you’ll be able to upgrade your ship, drones, and your power-ups. Galactic Warzone is an impressive looking game with nice visuals and fairly smooth UI. Besides the main campaign, there are also multiple different modes like Boss Rush, Survival, “Crazy Mode”, and more. So, there is quite a bit packed into this app. The only real downside of this game is that it relies heavily on its free-to-play mechanics. So, you’ve got a couple different currencies, the dreaded play timer, and a whole host of IAPs. If you can get past these things, Galactic Warzone is a pretty fun shoot em up!
