(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is a top-down survival-style game by Funday Games that was recently released on the App Store. Originally released on Steam, DRG Survivor is a spinoff of the original Deep Rock Galactic game. In this one, the object is to basically mine resources while fighting off hordes of enemies. (You know the whole gameplay loop by now.) You’ll start off each run by completing a random mission. This can be anything from looking for a supply drop, to drawing out certain enemies. Once all missions have been completed, you have 30 seconds to make it back to your Craft where you will dig down to the next level. As you progress, you’ll spend your resources on permanent upgrades or upgrading your gear. What sets DRG Survivor apart from other survival-style games is all of this is just in the trial/free version of the game. Purchasing the full game offers a TON of content like different game modes, unique characters, and a bunch more. I’ve been having a blast with this game so far. It feels like an actual full game and not something that I’m just going to play until I get bored with it. Last time I felt this way with a survival game was with the mobile launch of Vampire Survivors. I know that I usually don’t cover bigger games like this, but if you’re a fan of the genre, I highly recommend checking Deep Rock Galactic Survivor out!
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
