Silvercall iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Silvercall is a side-scrolling action RPG that was recently released on the App Store by Ten10 Games. You play as an unnamed hero that has just lost the love of his life and all his memories about her being abducted. The object is to collect “memory crystals” to figure out your past and uncover the truth. Silvercall starts off fairly easy with some light platforming and minimal enemies. The actual level design is pretty good. There’s multiple routes, hidden areas, and secrets to find. You earn EXP for killing enemies that when leveling up, you can unlock new talents and skills. The coins and gems that you find can be used back at the village to purchase new swords. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with Silvercall so far. It’s simplistic with only 3 action buttons to deal with (jump/attack/magic), yet has fairly complex levels and a decent upgrade system. I will say that the game can be tough at times. One missed jump or just a couple kits from an enemy and you are starting the level over. But, I guess that goes with the whole retro vibe of the game. Silvercall is of course F2P so you’ll have to deal with two different currencies, but that’s about it. I haven’t run across any ads or paywalls so far. If you’re a fan of side-scrollers or action RPGs, Silvercall is definitely worth checking out!
